Does Intuit Sponsor H-1B Visas? Software, Data and AI Roles for OPT and STEM OPT Candidates

Intuit files its own H-1B petitions. Our count of its DOL wage filings shows why a Software Engineer offer at the median floor would be entered once in the weighted lottery in Mountain View but twice in New York.

Part of our guide to companies that sponsor H-1B visas.

Does Intuit sponsor H-1B? Yes. Intuit Inc., the Mountain View, California company behind TurboTax and QuickBooks, files H-1B petitions under its own name, and USCIS recorded 152 initial-employment approvals and no initial denials for it in FY2024. Whether your role sponsors is decided offer by offer. What you can see in public is where Intuit prices each job title on the Department of Labor's four-level wage ladder, and since 2026-02-27 the level your offered wage meets decides how many times your registration is entered in the H-1B lottery.

Status as of November 1, 2026. Wage-weighted H-1B selection is in effect (since 2026-02-27). The FY2028 registration is not announced; USCIS must give at least 30 days' notice. Proclamation 11069's $100,000 entry restriction is in effect on paper, but the fee is blocked by court orders (both on appeal) and is not being collected. A separate $103,265 fee for certain cap-subject petitions is only proposed (comments closed 2026-09-24). Intuit is not among the eight employers in DOL's 2026-10-08 PERM suspension.

Does Intuit sponsor H-1B visas? The short answer

Intuit sponsors H-1B workers under its legal name, Intuit Inc. USCIS's H-1B Employer Data Hub shows 773 first decisions on its petitions in FY2024: 152 initial-employment approvals with no denials and 618 continuing approvals with 3 denials, about 99.6% approved. That is the record of an established sponsor, not a promise of sponsorship for any single role.

Total first decisions773

The year-by-year record is on our Intuit Inc. H-1B employer page, built from the USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub. FY2024 is the latest full year in our extract; the Hub now says it covers through FY2026 quarter 4, so search it directly for newer quarters and read USCIS's notes on what the data counts. The Hub lists petitioners, not brands, so if your offer comes from an Intuit business with its own legal entity, ask which entity will file your I-129.

Does Intuit sponsor H-1B for new grads?

Intuit files first-time H-1B petitions (152 approved in FY2024), the bucket a new grad's petition lands in. Entry-level titles are a small share of its filings, though. In DOL's FY2026 Q3 LCA file, only 33 of Intuit's 602 certified LCAs were for the plain Software Engineer title, and about 75 carried no seniority word such as Senior, Staff or Principal (our count). A new grad on OPT also still needs a cap lottery selection, which no employer controls, and sponsorship is set role by role. Get the recruiter's answer in writing before you rely on it.

On the $100,000 fee, USCIS's I-129 page (updated 2026-10-30) says a court vacated the guidance implementing it and that "If this order is later lifted, DHS still plans to collect the payment." Change-of-status petitions USCIS grants inside the US, the usual OPT-to-H-1B route, were never covered; a denied change of status would be. What wage level do Intuit's H-1B roles sit at?

In Intuit's recent filings that used DOL's OEWS wage data, the seniority word in the job title predicts the level almost exactly: unprefixed titles such as Software Engineer at Level II, Senior at Level III, Staff and above at Level IV. In Mountain View, where Intuit priced most software roles by private survey, the same titles map one or two levels lower on the OEWS ladder.

We tabulated every Intuit Inc. Labor Condition Application (LCA) in DOL's FY2026 Q3 LCA disclosure file, from the OFLC performance data page, which covers decisions from 2025-10-01 to 2026-06-30. It holds 606 Intuit Inc. LCAs, all H-1B, 602 certified, mostly for Santa Clara County (Mountain View), then New York, San Diego, Oakland, the Plano area, Atlanta and Charlotte. Of the 602 certified, 311 (51.7%) set the prevailing wage from a private survey (the Aon Radford McLagan database) and show no OEWS level. The other 291 used OEWS.

All2914 (1.4%)34 (11.7%)88 (30.2%)165 (56.7%)

AI titles follow the same ladder: AI Scientist, Senior AI Scientist, Staff AI Scientist, mostly filed under the Data Scientists code. Two cautions. An LCA is not a hire or a petition: one LCA can cover several workers, and many of these support extensions, amendments or transfers from other employers rather than a first H-1B. And the level on an LCA is not automatically the level on a lottery registration.

Why the LCA level is not your lottery level

For the lottery, the registration must state, in USCIS's words, "the highest OEWS wage level that the beneficiary's proffered wage will equal or exceed" for the job's occupation code and area. That compares your offered wage with the OEWS ladder, whatever source set the LCA's prevailing wage. The regulation at 8 CFR 214.2(h)(8)(iii)(A)(4) adds three rules that matter at Intuit:

How a new grad's level differs from a senior hire's

The same title can carry a different weight depending on the office, because the Mountain View ladder sits far higher than New York's or San Diego's. Below are the Software Developers (SOC 15-1252) ladders for Intuit's three biggest offices, read from the prevailing wages that thousands of LCAs in the same file list at each level.

OEWS annual wage by level, Software Developers, wage year 2025-07-01 to 2026-06-30 (most common value on LCAs in DOL's FY2026 Q3 file; our tabulation)

OEWS levelLottery entriesSanta Clara County (Mountain View)San Diego CountyNew York County
Level I1$149,365$102,794$103,210
Level II2$187,741$130,187$131,997
Level III3$226,138$157,581$160,805
Level IV4$264,514$184,974$189,592

These ladders reset every July 1. DOL's rule to raise the percentile behind each level (RIN 1205-AC30) is still proposed (2026-03-27, no final rule), so today's OEWS levels apply.

Where Intuit's median LCA wage floor (bottom of the range) lands on those ladders, certified Software Developers LCAs (our arithmetic). In brackets: how many of that cell's LCAs had a floor at the same level. A floor below Level I counts as Level I, as four of the ten Mountain View Software Engineer floors were.

TitleMountain View areaNew YorkSan Diego
Software Engineer$153,010, Level I (10 of 10)$137,292, Level II (7 of 9)$133,266, Level II (4 of 5)
Senior Software Engineer$185,453, Level I (12 of 12)$175,100, Level III (9 of 11)$157,581, Level III (6 of 6)
Staff Software Engineer$221,443, Level II (16 of 18)$205,980, Level IV (13 of 13)$195,770, Level IV (7 of 7)

Worked example: two new grads join Intuit on OPT with the median Software Engineer floor. In New York, $137,292 clears Level II ($131,997), so the registration would be entered twice. In Mountain View, $153,010 clears Level I ($149,365) but not Level II ($187,741), so it would be entered once. Neither is a prediction. Your actual base salary may sit above the LCA floor, and the wage year on these filings ended 2026-06-30, so look up current figures in DOL's FLAG wage search for your occupation code and county. The registration has to reflect where you will really work and the wage really offered, so treat this as a way to read an offer, not to reshape one on paper. Many Senior and Staff hires already hold H-1B status and were counted against the cap earlier, so the level question bites hardest while you are still on OPT.

The occupation code matters as much as the title. Intuit's certified LCAs for Data Scientist titles used two codes in this file, Operations Research Analysts (44) and Data Scientists (32), and each has its own ladder. The code has to match the duties, which is the employer's attorney's call, but you can ask which one your role uses. Our guide to how wage levels change your weight in the lottery covers the mechanics, and what legitimately moves a software role to Level III or IV covers duties and experience.

What is the H-1B salary at Intuit?

The public number is the LCA wage, a floor and a range for base pay, not total compensation. In the FY2026 Q3 file, Intuit's Mountain View Software Engineer LCAs had floors of $129,183 to $157,228, with range tops up to $181,295. Staff Software Engineer floors there ran $216,615 to $250,000.

Use these figures as a check on an offer, not a forecast: they show the minimum Intuit committed to for a title and place, and nothing about bonus or equity. Our walkthrough on how to search LCA filings for any employer shows how to filter the file yourself.

Does Intuit sponsor green cards?

Intuit files PERM labor certifications, the step that starts most employment green cards. In DOL's FY2026 Q3 PERM disclosure file we found 82 Intuit Inc. cases decided between 2025-11-19 and 2026-06-22: 80 certified (the file labels 55 "Certified" and 25 "Certified - Expired") and 2 withdrawn. Software Developers, Project Management Specialists and Data Scientists led the list.

Intuit is not one of the eight employers (Microsoft, Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL and Capgemini) whose PERM cases DOL said on 2026-10-08 it would stop processing. That suspension is in effect as announced, with no written notice or end date as of 2026-11-01, and as Mayer Brown notes, it "does not suspend any employer from the H-1B program." DOL's PERM labor-market-test proposal (RIN 1205-AC29) cleared White House review on 2026-10-23 but is unpublished, so current PERM rules apply. Filing history does not tell you when Intuit starts PERM for your level, so ask HR. Two dated snapshots set expectations:

Our guide on checking whether a company sponsors green cards explains how to read a PERM count against an LCA count.

Does Intuit hire OPT students, and is Intuit E-Verify enrolled?

OPT is your own work authorization, so no employer sponsors it; Intuit would hire you on your EAD. Intuit Careers links to Internships & Co-ops and Entry-Level Careers pages alongside the full job search. The visa questions come later: will the team file an H-1B, and can the hiring entity support STEM OPT.

STEM OPT needs an E-Verify employer. Under 8 CFR 214.2(f)(10)(ii)(C)(5), the employer must be enrolled in E-Verify, shown by a valid E-Verify Company Identification number that goes on your Form I-983, and must sign that training plan. We did not confirm Intuit's listing. Check the E-Verify Employer Search, updated daily at about 2 a.m. ET, which uses enrollment names and warns that listed hiring sites may not all be enrolled. Our E-Verify employer lookup guide walks through it.

Three rules are in effect and unchanged as of 2026-11-01. The USCIS STEM OPT page still gives a 180-day automatic extension to a timely filed STEM I-765 (none if filed after the OPT EAD expires). The SEVIS Help Hub caps unemployment at 90 days on post-completion OPT and 150 days in total with STEM OPT. Cap-gap carries F-1 status and OPT work to April 1 of the fiscal year requested (or the petition start date, if earlier) for a timely, cap-subject change-of-status petition.

E-Verify is funded by the current continuing resolution only through 2026-12-11. Unless Congress passes funding by then, it could go offline, as it did when the October 2025 shutdown began.

How to check an Intuit role, step by step

  1. Ask the recruiter by email whether the role is eligible for H-1B sponsorship and which legal entity would file the I-129.
  2. Search "Intuit" in the USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub and note initial-employment approvals by year.
  3. Download the latest LCA disclosure file from DOL's OFLC performance page and filter for Intuit Inc. and your title.
  4. Read PW_WAGE_LEVEL, PW_OTHER_SOURCE, SOC_CODE, WORKSITE_COUNTY and WAGE_RATE_OF_PAY_FROM for comparable filings.
  5. Look up the current OEWS ladder for that SOC code and county in DOL's FLAG wage search.
  6. Compare the base salary in your offer letter with the ladder to see the highest level it meets.
  7. Search the E-Verify Employer Search and ask HR for the E-Verify company ID for Form I-983.
  8. Take OPT, STEM OPT, cap-gap and I-983 questions to your DSO; take registration, wage-level and PERM questions to Intuit's immigration team (which represents the company) or to your own licensed immigration attorney.

Frequently asked questions

Does Intuit sponsor H-1B for new grads?

Intuit files H-1B petitions under its own name, Intuit Inc., and USCIS recorded 152 initial-employment approvals and no initial denials for it in FY2024, the category where a first H-1B after OPT usually falls. A new grad still needs a cap lottery selection, which no employer can promise, and the FY2028 registration had not been announced as of 2026-11-01. Ask the recruiter in writing whether your specific role is eligible.

Does Intuit hire OPT students?

OPT is your own work authorization, so Intuit does not sponsor it; it would hire you on your EAD, and its careers site has Internships & Co-ops and Entry-Level Careers pages. What matters is whether the role will later file an H-1B and, for the 24-month STEM OPT extension, whether the hiring entity is enrolled in E-Verify and will sign your Form I-983.

Does Intuit sponsor green cards?

Intuit files PERM labor certifications, the first step of most employment green cards. Our count of DOL's FY2026 Q3 PERM disclosure file found 82 Intuit Inc. cases decided between 2025-11-19 and 2026-06-22, 80 of them certified. Intuit is not among the eight employers named in DOL's 2026-10-08 PERM suspension. Ask HR when PERM starts for your level.

What is the H-1B salary at Intuit?

Public LCA filings show a wage floor and range, not total pay. In DOL's FY2026 Q3 file, the median LCA wage floor for Intuit's Software Engineer title was $153,010 in Santa Clara County (Mountain View) and $137,292 in New York County, rising to about $221,000 and $206,000 for Staff Software Engineer. LCAs leave out bonus and equity, and your offer letter governs.

Is Intuit E-Verify enrolled?

Check the E-Verify Employer Search on e-verify.gov, which USCIS updates daily and which lists employers under the name they used to enroll, and ask HR for the E-Verify company ID that goes on Form I-983.
