Part of our guide to companies that sponsor H-1B visas.

Does Siemens sponsor H-1B? Yes. In fiscal year 2024, five US companies carrying the Siemens name won H-1B approvals: Siemens Industry Software Inc., Siemens Energy Inc., Siemens Industry Inc., Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. and Siemens Mobility Inc. Together they logged 145 initial and 280 continuing approvals, by our sum of USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub figures. The catch: "Siemens" is not one employer. Each company files its own petitions, Siemens Energy has been separate since 2020, and Siemens AG plans a February 2027 shareholder vote on spinning off Siemens Healthineers shares.

Where the rules stand (as of 2026-11-01):

Does Siemens sponsor H-1B? Siemens H-1B sponsorship by entity (FY2024)

Yes, entity by entity. In FY2024, Siemens Industry Software Inc. had 47 initial H-1B approvals, Siemens Energy Inc. 33, Siemens Industry Inc. 31, Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. 28 and Siemens Mobility Inc. 6, per USCIS Employer Data Hub figures. Each is a separate petitioner, so the legal employer on your posting or offer decides which record applies.

The table uses FY2024 (October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024) first decisions. Initial approvals track new H-1B employment, the closer proxy for an OPT-to-H-1B hire. Continuing approvals cover people already in H-1B status: extensions, amendments and, by our reading of USCIS's definitions, moves from another H-1B employer. The Hub now covers data through FY2026 quarter 4, and smaller Siemens-named filers may appear there too.

Totals and the "initial share" column (initial approvals divided by all FY2024 decisions for that entity) are our arithmetic.

Which Siemens entity files the most H-1B petitions?

Siemens Industry Software Inc. leads on both counts: 169 decisions and 47 initial approvals in FY2024. Its record leans toward continuing approvals, though: about 28% of its decisions were initial approvals, against 44% at Siemens Medical Solutions USA. A smaller entity with a higher initial share can be just as real a door for a new graduate.

Why does the Hub put three Siemens companies in Orlando?

The Hub's location fields come from a mailing address, not your future desk. USCIS says its state field "is the State indicated in the mailing address of the employer and is not necessarily the beneficiary(ies) work location" (Understanding Our H-1B Employer Data Hub). Siemens Medical Solutions USA's own corporate information page gives 40 Liberty Boulevard, Malvern, Pennsylvania, yet the Hub records behind our company page list Orlando. Take the worksite from the job posting.

Siemens is several employers, not one: who owns what

An H-1B petition comes from a specific legal entity, and the Hub groups records by tax ID. Moving between Siemens companies generally means a new petition by the new entity; the hiring company's immigration attorney confirms that for your case.

Siemens Energy Inc.Siemens Energy AG, spun off from Siemens AG in 2020Announced: a staged rebrand to Omterra (2026-07-14)Postings and offers may carry a new name

Siemens completed its Altair Engineering Inc. acquisition on 2025-03-26. Its 2026-04-17 press release says "Siemens plans a shareholder vote on direct spin-off of Siemens Healthineers shares at the next ordinary Siemens Annual General Meeting in February 2027" and describes Siemens as owning "a majority stake in the publicly listed company Siemens Healthineers."

On 2026-07-14, Siemens Energy announced preparations for an independent brand, Omterra, citing "the time-limited license agreement governing the use of the brand"; the rebranding "is scheduled to begin later this calendar year and will be implemented in stages." Neither release says whether a US entity's legal name will change. The Hub shows one name per tax ID ("The most common spelling of employer name per unique tax ID is used"), so a renamed entity could appear under either name later. If a name or owner changes while your petition is pending, ask the employer's immigration attorney.

Does Siemens Energy sponsor visas?

For H-1B, yes. Siemens Energy Inc. had 33 initial approvals, 50 continuing approvals and no denials in FY2024. The Hub covers H-1B only, so it says nothing about other visa types.

Postings favor this work. Indeed Hiring Lab's October 2026 labor market snapshot (published 2026-10-22) put its engineering postings index near 145 and its data-center index at 247, against about 78-79 for software development. If your degree is in power systems, turbomachinery or grid engineering, our guide to clean energy and renewables employers that sponsor H-1B covers the rest of the sector.

Siemens Healthineers H-1B: Siemens Medical Solutions USA

If a Healthineers posting or offer names Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., this is your row: 28 initial approvals, 36 continuing approvals and no denials in FY2024. Its initial share, about 44%, was the highest of the five.

As a for-profit medical-technology company, it generally files cap-subject petitions for first-time H-1B workers, unlike universities and their qualifying affiliated nonprofits, which can file cap-exempt.

Siemens Industry Software H-1B (Plano)

Siemens Industry Software Inc. is the largest Siemens filer (47 initial, 119 continuing, 3 continuing denials in FY2024; Plano, Texas in its Hub records). It is the business behind simulation, product-lifecycle and digital-twin tools, the natural target if you studied computational mechanics, controls or manufacturing engineering. Our guide to digital twin and simulation engineer roles that sponsor H-1B covers the job titles and skills, and the Dallas-Fort Worth H-1B jobs guide covers the metro around Plano.

Weigh the market too: software development was the lowest of the five sectors in Indeed's October chart, so lead with the engineering depth behind your code.

Siemens Industry Inc. and Siemens Mobility

Siemens Industry Inc. (31 initial, 48 continuing, 1 continuing denial in FY2024) covers factory automation, building technology and electrical products, a fit for electrical, controls and industrial engineers. Siemens Mobility Inc. was the smallest door that year (6 initial, 1 initial denial, 27 continuing); check later years in the Hub before you rule it in or out.

Does Siemens hire STEM OPT students?

There is no public count; USCIS publishes no OPT or STEM OPT data by employer. What you can check is eligibility: the USCIS STEM OPT page requires the employer to be enrolled in E-Verify and to complete a Form I-983 training plan with you. Those duties fall on the specific Siemens entity; our walkthrough of how to look up any employer in E-Verify shows how to check it.

Three timing rules apply whichever Siemens company you target:

Take questions about your own OPT dates and unemployment count to your DSO.

How the wage-weighted lottery affects a Siemens offer

Since 2026-02-27, each cap registration enters the selection pool by wage level: four times at Level IV, three at Level III, twice at Level II and once at Level I. The level is "the highest wage level that the proffered salary would equal or exceed" for the job's occupation in the area of intended employment, per the final rule. The same salary can therefore sit at different levels in Plano, Orlando or New York, so the worksite on an offer matters as much as the number.

Worked timeline: a May 2026 graduate with a Siemens Energy offer

Say you finished a STEM master's in electrical engineering in May 2026, hold a post-completion OPT EAD to 2027-06-30 and already work in a qualifying OPT job. The dates are illustrative.

If the rebrand reaches the US entity's name, make sure your offer, I-983 and petition name the same legal employer.

Does Siemens sponsor green cards?

We found no Siemens statement on green-card sponsorship as of 2026-11-01. Each entity would file its own PERM labor certification, published in DOL's disclosure files on its OFLC performance data page (latest: FY2026 Q3, through 2026-06-30). Our PERM lookup guide shows how to search them.

Expect a long wait anywhere. DOL's FLAG processing times page (as of 2026-10-21) showed analysts reviewing PERM applications with January 2026 priority dates; cases decided in August 2026 averaged 303 days in analyst review. In the November 2026 Visa Bulletin, the EB-2 Final Action Date is 2013-11-01 for India-born applicants (unchanged) and 2025-04-01 for rest of world. USCIS requires the Dates for Filing chart for November I-485s, consular cases use Final Action Dates, and the December bulletin is not out.

Common misconception: "Siemens had 430 H-1B decisions in FY2024, so any Siemens job will sponsor me."

Correction: Those 430 first decisions are spread across five separate employers, and 280 were continuing approvals for people already in H-1B status. The Hub counts petitions, not promises; ask about the specific role.

How to check any Siemens entity yourself

  1. Read the legal employer on the posting or offer, such as "Siemens Industry Software Inc." rather than "Siemens."
  2. Search the USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub for "SIEMENS" and open that entity for FY2024 and later; our Employer Data Hub guide explains each column.
  3. Compare initial and continuing approvals; initial approvals are the closer signal for new graduates.
  4. Download DOL's LCA and PERM disclosure files and filter by the same legal name.
  5. Confirm the entity's E-Verify enrollment before you count on it for STEM OPT.
  6. Ask the recruiter, "Is this role open to candidates who will need H-1B sponsorship?"
  7. Take OPT timing to your DSO, and petition or green-card strategy to a licensed immigration attorney.
